Online Chat or Lingo (subjective definition)
Since the dawn of time, communication has existed
where humankind is allowed to grow, expand, and flourish through social
networks. Social networking site like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others
are sprouting out like mushrooms after a rainy day in today's world.
The following
are some of the examples used in online world:

FTW- For The Win. You
use it when supporting someone or you want to win that someone or that team. For
example, Golden State, FTW!!!

TBH-
To
Be Honest. A friend was asking you about something and you need to tell her/him the
truth. For example, Friend TBH, I’m gay.
·
ROTFLMAO-
Rolling On The Floor Laughing My Ass Off. It means a person is laughing
hysterically.
·
TTYL-
Talk To You Later. Is what you’ll say if someone texted you and you’re busy
or sometimes you are just not in the mood to talk with that person.

LMK-
Let Me Know. For instace, If you need
anything, LMK.
·
NP-
No Problem. You say it when someone is thankful of what you do.
·
SNAFU-
Situation Normal All Fucked Up. It means things are running normally. For
example, The meeting started out SNAFU.

4SHO-
For Sure. For example, We're gonna win
this competition, 4sho!!!
·
MTBC-
More Birthdays To Come. Commonly used when greeting someone on social media if
it is her/his birthday.

ILY-
I Love You. Obviously, you tell this to all the people you love.

IMY-
I Miss You. If you misses someone. For example, It’s been a while, Imy!
·
WW3-
World War Three. If you are pertaining to a upcoming war, commonly war between
your siblings (haha).

NVM-
Nevermind. It’s hard to explain so nevermind.

MTM-
Many to Mention. If someone is asking you to cite all stuffs. For example, Can you tell me the names of all the
bullies? MTM.

IDC-
I Don’t Care. You doesn’t care at all. You are not interested.
·
Noob-
Newbie. A term used when you are pertaining to a beginner or amateur.

BTW-
By The Way. Typically used when changing a topic.

FYI- For Your Information.
Make something clear. For example, FYI! We
are the highest not the lowest.
Social
media is definitely changing the way we communicate, but in many ways it’s for
the better as we expand our social circles. Nevertheless, the elderly people
doesn’t know this kind of communication that it can leads conflict when
talking with teens at the present time. But then, as what they say communication
is constantly changing therefore online chat or lingo is widely accepted and
adapted by our society.
