Analysis: Breakdown

In Clearance, Neobie Gonzales suggest how individuals cope with huge problems. The story renders a very distinctive way of solving such problems. It is about a community facing an epidemic and people take death as the only way to solve the problem. At first, I was confused and can’t point out what the story really mean. “How many meters?, you asked the eleventh person to buy rope that day.” Upon reading I learned that rope was used as tool to end one’s life.
In this story people take that ending one’s life was the best and only way to cope the problem. But it’s like escaping the problem. How can we move forward if we choose to avoid the problem instead of just dealing with it.

We are all human beings but vary in many aspects. We may not understand each other on how we perceive certain things but just accept and respect it. Because you can’t do anything about it, it’s their life not yours.

The overall argument here is that Neobie Gonzales wants readers to see that dealing with huge problems comes with different ways to solve it. No matter how distinct it is, that’s how individuals deals with their problem.
